    illustrated book with two parts in one volume (presentation copy probably for the dedicatee of this edition); 3 title pages printed in red and black within woodcut borders; 144 woodcuts all colored and heightened in gold and silver by an early hand;initials painted alternately in black, red, and blue and heightened in gold; 2 printed "Erklärung" slips at l4; contemporary red velvet over wooden boards with copper-gilt corner pieces on both covers and silver-gilt roundels and silver-gilt reliefplaque of the Crucifixion; similar clasps and catches; gauffered edges with birds and flowers; early notes of ownership on flyleaves
