Mocenigo Soranzo Bolini family, Cremona, early 20th century.[1] (Arnold Seligmann et Cie, Paris). Rudolf J. Heinemann [d. 1975], before 1947;[2] by inheritance to his wife, Lore Heinemann [d. 1996]; gift 1982 to NGA.
[1] According to an inscription on an old photograph in the Kunsthistorisches Institut, Florence.
[2] Letter from Mrs. Rudolf J. Heinemann dated 6 November 1985, in NGA curatorial files. There is an old lead customs seal attached to the lower right corner of the tapestry, inscribed on one face "Douanes françaises," and on the other, "Paris St. Lazare."
