Provenance

Harold I. Pratt [d. 1939], New York, by 1917 until at least 1933.[1] (Wildenstein & Co., Inc., London, New York and Paris); sold 1947 to the Samuel H. Kress Foundation; gift 1952 to NGA.

[1] The painting was lent by Pratt to an exhibition at Kleinberger Galleries, New York, in 1917, and was located in the Pratt collection by Venturi, Italian Paintings in America, 1933: I:116.
