Conservation Notes
A moderately thin layer of white ground covers a fine, plain-woven fabric support that has been lined. Paint application ranges from thin in the foreground water to multilayered in the ducks, and it displays brushwork throughout. The painting is in good condition. Abrasion of paint in some of the thinner passages and ground, perhaps by the artist, has been inpainted. Discolored varnish was removed and the painting was restored in 1983.| « | back to gallery |
