Object 9 of 26

Not all shop signs were human figures. Many, like this shoe, simply exhibited a sample of the goods for sale within. This is a more direct method of advertising. This carving of a shoe is a fine piece of craftsmanship, with graceful lines and precise details. The grain and character of the wood are shown to good advantage.
