The picture is copyrighted; left verso in pen and black ink: I had no idea of published it / only selling it as a picture. / Now it occured to me that / you might see it and think / perhaps I was infringing somewhat / on the Lion in Love [underlined] - so I write / It is not the same in composition / or color although similar in / subject I will not allow / any publication of the same but / I want you to be perfectly satis - / fied of this fact which only / occurred to me the other day. / Yours F.S.
