in standard script on the base in underglaze blue in two columns of three characters each: Da Qing Yongzheng nian zhi (made in the Yongzheng reign of the great Qing dynasty)

Provenance

(C.T. Loo, New York); sold January 1941 to Harry G. Steele [1881-1942], Pasadena; his widow, Grace C. Steele [d. 1974]; gift 1972 to NGA.

Technical Summary

The cup is thinly potted and has a colorless glaze on the interior and the base. The foot-ring is rounded, and the base recessed.
