Biography

Born in London, Henry Farrer immigrated to the United States when he was nineteen. He began to produce etchings in 1877, encouraged by the formation of the New York Etching Club that year. Eventually, he became president of the organization. Farrer became known for a series of eleven etchings of "Old New York," in which he depicted genre subjects or scenes from daily life.
