Film Programs

An ongoing program of classic cinema, documentary, avant-garde, and area premieres occurs each weekend. Programs are free of charge, but seating is on a first-come, first-seated basis. Films are screened in original formats. Doors open approximately 30 minutes before each show. Programs are subject to change. The Gallery is affiliated with the International Federation of Film Archives (FIAF).

Beginning in the spring of 2014, screenings take place in three locations and the venue for each is noted:

National Gallery of Art, East Building Auditorium,
4th Street and Constitution Avenue NW

National Gallery of Art, West Building Lecture Hall,
6th Street and Constitution Avenue NW

American University School of Communication, Malsi Doyle and Michael Forman Theater  McKinley Building 201, 4400 Massachusetts Avenue NW.
