Overview: 120 drawings by 42 artists were selected by Terisio Pignatti, vice-director and keeper of prints and drawings at the Correr Museum in Venice, to illustrate the golden age of Venetian draftsmanship. Included were Tiepolo caricatures, vedute by Canaletto, domestic scenes by Pietro Longhi, and 26 drawings by members of the Guardi family. This was the 9th in a series of old master drawings exhibitions organized by the Smithsonian Institution Traveling Exhibition Service.
