Overview: 50 drawings from Italy, Germany, and France were selected from 7 private collections by A. Hyatt Mayor, former curator of prints at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York. 16th-century prints from the Gallery's collection were added to the Washington showing.

Organization: The exhibition was organized and circulated by the American Federation of Arts.

Sponsor: This was the last of a series sponsored by the Samuel H. Kress Foundation and devoted to master drawings from American private collections.
