Overview: 120 old master drawings were organized in 6 geographical and historical sections spanning the 12th through the 20th century. The exhibition represented the collecting of more than 25 donors and potential donors.

Organization: This first graphics exhibition in the East Building was prepared by Agnes Mongan, 1977-1978 Kress Professor, with Lynn Gould and Andrew Robison. Gaillard Ravenel and Mark Leithauser designed the exhibition and Gordon Anson designed the lighting.
