Overview: 89 examples from 7 American and 11 European collections were brought together in this special exhibition devoted to the work of the 16th-century German Renaissance artist.

Organization: The exhibition was organized by Alan Shestack, director of Yale University Art Gallery. Gaillard Ravenel, Mark Leithauser, and Alan Shestack designed the exhibition, and Gordon Anson designed the lighting for the National Gallery.

Sponsor: The catalogue was supported by a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts.
