East Building, Ground Floor, Northeast

Ellsworth Kelly, Blue/Green/Yellow/Orange/Red (Colored Paper Image XXII), 1976/1977, colored and pressed paper pulp, Gift of Professional Art Group I, 1980.72.5

This exhibition is no longer on view at the National Gallery.

Overview: In 1977, Ellsworth Kelly unveiled a series of molded handmade paper images that spilled beyond the crisp geometry and pristine monochromes for which he was well known. Irregular textures, pools and drifts of color, and meandering edges are celebrated in the 23 prints from the Gallery’s collection.

Organization: Organized by the National Gallery of Art, Washington.
