Julie Mehretu discussing her print, Circulation, 2005, during the filming of an interivew in the Yes, No, Maybe galleries

We are indebted to the artists whose works are represented in the exhibition, especially Tom Marioni, Susan Middleton, Laura Owens, Pat Steir, and Fred Wilson. Their input was invaluable. We also thank Julie Mehretu for her generosity in sitting for a filmed interview and for participating in a public conversation under the aegis of the Diamonstein-Spielvogel lecture series.

Chuck Close was an inspiration to us both.  His enthusiasm for the project, as well as his willingness to revisit a work he had abandoned, speaks not only to his generous spirit but also to his boundless curiosity. Our deepest appreciation goes to Kathan Brown, the founder of Crown Point Press. Our motivation as curators was to produce scholarship commensurate with the art Kathan has fostered at Crown Point over the past five decades.

Maquettes used to design the layout of the exbibition Yes, No, Maybe: Artists Working at Crown Point Press

This web feature was designed and built by Adam Greenhalgh, Andrew W. Mellon Postdoctoral Curatorial Fellow in the department of modern prints and drawings. Co-written by Judith Brodie, curator and head of modern prints and drawings, and Adam Greenhalgh, all texts were adapted from the Yes, No, Maybe exhibition wall materials, which were produced with the assistance of Lynn Matheny and edited by Julie Warnement. Installation views were photographed by Rob Shelley. Nearly all of the works of art reproduced in this web feature were photographed by Lee Ewing, Tricia Zigmund, and Ricardo Blanc.
