Overview: Held in conjunction with the exhibition Cotton Puffs, Q-Tips®, Smoke and Mirrors: The Drawings of Ed Ruscha (February 13–May 30, 2005), this focus exhibition highlighted the mass market paperback books that Ruscha published between 1962 and 1978.

Organization: The exhibition was organized by the National Gallery of Art. Neal Turtell, executive librarian, and Judith Brodie, curator of modern prints and drawings, were cocurators.
