Make an Appointment: Print Study Rooms

The Gallery's collection of prints, drawings, miniatures, and illustrated books contains over 100,000 European and American works on paper and vellum, dating from the eleventh century to the present day. In addition to its strengths in western art, the Gallery also has a small selection of works on paper from Asia, Latin America, Russia, and the Near East. The Gallery frequently exhibits selected works from its holdings as well as loans from other public and private collections. Please consult the Current Exhibitions schedule for information on such shows.

Works on paper not on display may be viewed and studied by appointment in the Gallery's two Print and Drawing Study Rooms. The study room for European works of art on paper is located in the East Building and the study room for American works of art on paper is in the West Building. Single visitors as well as small groups are welcome. All visitors must comply with the Gallery's rules and requirements for viewing works of art on paper.

Appointments should be made at least two weeks in advance.
