Guided Tours

Drop-in tours of the collection and special exhibitions, including tours in foreign languages, are available daily.  School tours and special tours for groups available free of charge by reservation and based on availability.

School Tours

Students encounter original works of art on docent-led tours that complement and enhance classroom learning. Arrangements for school group tours can be made by prior appointment with four weeks’ notice.

Regularly Scheduled Tours

Docent-led tours are offered on a daily basis and provide a variety of ways to explore the collection.

Special Appointment Tours

Free one-hour private tours for groups of 20 or more adults may be requested three weeks to four months in advance. Call (202) 842-6247.

Foreign Language Tours

Tours of the permanent collection are offered regularly in Chinese (Mandarin), French, German, Italian, Japanese, Russian, and Spanish. Individuals and small groups may request special appointment tours in these languages, as well as in Dutch, Hebrew, Hungarian, Korean, and Portuguese, by calling (202) 842-6247.
