Degas at the Races: Credits

Kimberly Jones is assistant curator of French paintings at the National Gallery of Art. She has been a fellow at the Musée d'Orsay, Paris, and the Musée national du Château de Pau, and is currently at work on the Systematic Catalogue of French Paintings at the National Gallery, a compendium of scholarly research and information. She has a B.A. from Western Maryland College, where she was elected to Phi Beta Kappa, and has received an M.A. and Ph.D. from the University of Maryland.

Shelley Sturman is head of object conservation at the National Gallery of Art. She has worked in the conservation departments at the Walters Art Gallery and Freer Gallery of Art, after receiving her B.A. and M.A. from Brandeis University and her M.S. from the Winterthur Museum University of Delaware Program in art conservation. She has published extensively, contributing to the Gallery's Systematic Catalogue of Western Decorative Arts and Studies in Conservation, as well as to such journals as Apollo. She has been investigating Degas' sculpture for the past ten years.
