Vallotton inserted himself among the pedestrians on this book jacket: he is the young man at lower left with a portfolio tucked under his arm. The book is a collection of essays and illustrations that focus on the psychology of the crowd. Its English title is "Strolls through Paris--Crowds, Physiology of the Street."
