Mars, related works

This unusual fold-out image allowed the artist to present a lively, detailed view of a medieval army on the move. Behind the horsemen and musicians in the lead are, in the middle column, supply wagons flanked by groups of foot soldiers, and in the two outer columns, armored wagons with doors through which to fire weapons.
