Venus, related works

The left half of this drawing is derived from an engraving by the Master E.S., The Large Love Garden, and the right half of the drawing extends the view across a river into a landscape. Here a young man wearing the stole and insignia of the Order of the Pitcher escorts a woman toward the river bank and the Love Garden on the opposite shore. Mine shafts are cut into the mountain behind them. A water wheel used to pump water out of mines looms in the foreground.
