A solvent adheres the prepared film to the screen. This substance melts the surface of the film, and the liquified portion is vigorously rubbed into the screen. Varsol, a petroleum distillate, is applied to stop the liquidation. As the film resolidifies, it becomes bonded to the fabric of the screen.
