A full-scale reproduction of the original
Riemerschmid drawing, resized to fit the dimensions of the exhibition space, served as a template for cutting
the silkscreen stencils. Here the blowup is positioned to check the alignment of the stencils.
Since the symmetrical frieze pattern repeats every sixteen feet, the design was divided up and printed in two eight-foot segments on sixteen-foot sheets of adhesive-backed mylar film. When linked together, these sheets formed a continuous frieze around the room measuring ninety-six feet in length. |
