Artists
often borrow
images from
many sources and put them together in new ways. You may want to
try this at homeclip some pictures from old magazines, photographs,
or newspapers that you might otherwise throw away. You can also
use construction paper, colored tissue paper, wrapping paper,
old greeting cards, labels, stickers, and other printed materials.
Place these cutouts on a sheet of heavy paper or cardboard, allowing
the surfaces to overlap. Once you have arranged the pieces the
way you like them, glue or paste them to the background. If you
like, you also can paint or draw on the surface to add a handmade
quality to your work.
