Protest and Social Comment in Prints

July 30-October 19, 1970

Overview: The prints on view illustrated a response to war, suffering, and social evils. Among the artists were Hans Holbein, Jacques Callot, Pieter Bruegel, Francisco de Goya, Honoré Daumier, Käthe Kollwitz, and Antonio Frasconi. The works were selected mainly from the Rosenwald collection by H. Diane Russell, assistant curator of graphic arts.
