Overview: Adelyn Breeskin, authority on Mary Cassatt, selected 90 paintings and drawings for this exhibition and also prepared the catalogue in conjunction with her catalogue raisonné on the artist, published by the Smithsonian Institution Press. 10 prints from the Gallery's collection were added to the exhibition. Coordinator for the Gallery was E. John Bullard, curator of special projects. This was the 6th retrospective exhibition held at the Gallery of an outstanding American artist.
