French Master Drawings from the Rouen Museum

August 2-September 13, 1981

Overview: 125 drawings and watercolors by French draftsmen from the end of the 16th through the mid-19th century were selected by Pierre Rosenberg of the Musée du Louvre and François Bergot, curator of the Rouen Museums. This traveling exhibition was organized by the International Exhibitions Foundation. The project was supported by an indemnity from the Federal Council on the Arts and the Humanities and by a grant from l'Association Française d'Action Artistique. The catalogue was underwritten in part by the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation.

Attendance: 54,658 (42 days)
