Lessing J. Rosenwald: Tribute to a Collector

Overview: 100 old master and modern prints and drawings were selected from the 22,000 works collected by Lessing J. Rosenwald from the mid-1920s until his death in June 1979. This memorial exhibition honored one of the Gallery's founding benefactors and its foremost donor of graphic arts. The exhibition and catalogue were prepared by Ruth E. Fine, curator in the Gallery's department of graphic arts, and formerly curator of the collection when it was housed in a wing of Alverthorpe, Rosenwald's home in Jenkintown, Pennsylvania. Gaillard Ravenel and Mark Leithauser designed the exhibition and Gordon Anson designed the lighting.
