Dutch Figure Drawings from the Seventeenth Century

April 1-June 13, 1982

Overview: 100 watercolors and drawings represented figure studies by Rembrandt van Rijn, Hendrik Goltzius, Willem Buytewech, Jacques de Gheyn, and their contemporaries. They were assembled by Peter Schatborn, curator of drawings at the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam. 3 additional works were selected from the Gallery's holdings by Andrew Robison and Arthur Wheelock Jr., in collaboration with Schatborn. The catalogue was supported by a contribution from the Cultural Affairs and Information Bureau of the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Attendance: 88,548 (64 days)

Location: East Building, Mezzanine, Northwest, Pod II (3,000 sq. ft.)
