Renaissance Master Bronzes from the Kunsthistorisches Museum, Vienna
Overview: 75 bronze 16th-century works were drawn from the collections assembled by members of the royal houses of Austria and the Holy Roman Empire over a period of more than 400 years. They were selected by Manfred Leithe-Jasper, director of the department of sculpture and decorative arts at the Kunsthistorisches Museum, Vienna. The exhibition was coordinated by Donald McClelland of the Smithsonian Traveling Exhibition Service, with Douglas Lewis and Alison Luchs.
Gaillard Ravenel and Mark Leithauser designed the exhibition and Gordon Anson designed the lighting for the National Gallery. The exhibition was supported by Republic National Bank of New York and Banco Safra, S.A., Brazil.
