Search for Rothko Work:
Catalogue Contents

Catalogue entries in Mark Rothko: The Works on Paper will include the following data: title, dimensions, media (including mounting and paper type), provenance (ownership history), exhibition history, publication history, and further explanatory commentary as needed.

The author will attempt to examine in person all works to be included in the catalogue. In addition to catalogue entries, the publication will include an introductory essay focusing on the relationship between Rothko's works on paper and those on canvas and the evolution of his working process; a compilation of the artist's statements and interviews; a chronology of Rothko's artistic activity in working on paper; a comprehensive exhibition history of his paintings and works on paper; and a bibliography from 1995 to the present, updating the bibliography in Mark Rothko: The Works on Canvas.
