Take Felix Gonzalez-Torres's “Untitled” With You

How do you feel wherever you are? Is “Nowhere better than this place” or “Somewhere better than this place”? Felix Gonzalez-Torres invites viewers to make a choice in this interactive work. Filmed over the course of a month, watch visitors decide which option they will take from two endlessly replenished stacks of paper in the National Gallery of Art. Gonzalez-Torres not only confronts viewers with a dilemma, he allows them to take a piece of his art wherever they go. The Double: Identity and Difference in Art since 1900 was on view at the National Gallery of Art July 10 – October 31, 2022.
