Join us in the National Gallery of Art Library as we update the work of women artists on Wikipedia and celebrate the Italian printmaker Girolama Cagnaccia Parasole (c. 1567–1622).

Learn more about Girolama—the first documented woman member of the Accademia di San Luca in Rome—through presentations and a special display of rare books featuring prints by the artist and original artworks related to the Parasole family’s workshop.

The day will culminate with creating and improving Wikipedia articles about Girolama, her family, and the Accademia using National Gallery resources, including The History of the Accademia di San Luca, c. 1590–1635: Documents from the Archivio di Stato di Roma.

No Wikipedia editing experience is necessary. Training will be provided from the Wikimedia Foundation. Please bring your own laptop.
