Join us for a concert with guitarist JIJI, honoring the contributions of women in music. Her performance will offer a vibrant blend of historical and contemporary sounds featuring a selection of works that span electro-acoustic and acoustic music.
Praised by The Washington Post as “one of the 21 composers/performers who sound like tomorrow,” JIJI is an adventurous guitarist known for her virtuosity and command of a diverse repertoire. Equally at home with acoustic and electric guitar, her concerts range from traditional and contemporary classical to free improvisation. JIJI is an associate professor of guitar at Indiana University Jacobs School of Music and performs and records many of her own works. She is currently working on an EP with R&B singer Daniel Fears.
