Yasushi Nakamura has been called “one of the most commanding voices on bass today” by Jazz-Blues.com and is known around the world for his imaginative melodies and solid blues foundation. Nakamura was born in Tokyo, Japan, and moved to the United States as a child. He received a BA in Jazz Performance from Berklee School of Music in 2000 and was awarded a full scholarship to The Juilliard School for his artist diploma in 2006. He has since toured the world and collaborated with artists such as Wynton Marsalis, Cécile Mclorin Salvant, and Dave Douglas, among others.
Clay Ross is a two-time Grammy-winning artist and the founder of the Billboard chart-topping band Ranky Tanky. A native of South Carolina, Ross moved to New York City in 2002 and has since collaborated with artists from Gregory Porter and Snarky Puppy to Bobby McFerrin.
