About Josanne Francis
Feel the Caribbean breeze and soak in the sounds of the steelpan with award‐winning artist Josanne Francis. Born in Trinidad & Tobago, Francis has captivated audiences across the globe with her energy, technical mastery, versatility, and commitment to cultural exchange. Well‐known to concert stages from Carnegie Hall and the Kennedy Center to Haiti’s Port‐au‐Prince International Jazz Festival, she has performed and collaborated with music luminaries such as David Rudder, Etienne Charles, and Jon Batiste, as well as appeared as a concerto soloist with the Baltimore Symphony and Michigan Philharmonic Orchestras. In addition to her recording collaborations, Francis has garnered grants and commissions for steelpan and steelband, and served several educational residencies. Her work has earned her significant accolades, including the Vanguard Award at the Caribbean American Heritage Gala.
