Enjoy a free, live performance by Pedrito Martinez, a leading percussionist in Afro-Cuban music, jazz, and a vocalist and leader deeply rooted in the African-derived traditions he grew up with in Havana.

Everyone sings and the music is a blend of a high energy dance style called timba, with touches of funk and jazz, folded in with rumba and Yoruba, the secular and sacred folkloric traditions Pedrito embodies.

His ensemble consists of Issac Delagado, Jr. on keyboard, Sebastian Natal on electric bass, Manuel Marquez on percussion, and Jose Lovell on trombone.
