It Rains on Our Love

July 7 at 4:30
East Building Auditorium

Two strangers with troubled pasts (Birger Malmsten and Barbro Kollberg) meet in a train station, spend a night together, and decide to start a new life, but their idyll is interrupted when they are forced to confront the coldly repressive society around them. In the mode of the French poetic realist films of the late 1930s, the lighthearted moments in It Rains on Our Love alternate with bursts of despair. (1946, subtitles, 95 minutes)
