William Wilson is an adaptation of Edgar Allan Poe’s eponymous 1839 tale of a young man (Alain Delon) stalked throughout his life by a doppelgänger who becomes his unbearable rival. (Louis Malle, 1968)

In occupied Paris, 1942, art dealer Robert Klein (Alain Delon) exploits wealthy Jews who are obliged to sell their treasures before fleeing the city. Klein’s scheme is toppled, however, when his Jewish doppelgänger unexpectedly surfaces. (Joseph Losey, 1976, 123 minutes)
