Chartres: La lumière retrouvée (Chartres: Light Reborn)

November 25 at 2:00
East Building Auditorium

Introduced by Dominique Lallement

The partial restoration of Chartres Cathedral that took place from 2014 to 2016 focused on the nave, stained-glass windows, and first figures in the ambulatory. Chartres: La lumière retrouvée documents this meticulous process through observation and conversations with numerous restorers, archaeologists, scientists, and architects. The screening is followed by a panel discussion. (Anne Savalli, 2016, subtitles, 54 minutes) Presented in partnership with American Friends of Chartres and the Embassy of France
