Join an in-depth presentation by Angela Ho, Samuel H. Kress Senior Fellow at the Center for Advanced Study in the Visual Arts, on art produced by both Dutch and Chinese artists following the Dutch East India Company's embassies to Beijing during the 17th century.

This talk elucidates how these rich visual materials reinforced the mystique of China in the Dutch imagination even as they solidified the republic’s self-image as a global maritime power.
