Join an in-depth presentation by Christopher Lakey, Ailsa Mellon Bruce Senior Fellow at the Center for Advanced Study in the Visual Arts, on the relationship between gold ground and perspective in late medieval paintings.

This talk expands upon the symbolic qualities of gold ground by viewing it as a mechanism to envelope the viewer into the pictorial space of the work.
