This program is held on the occasion of the exhibition Outliers and American Vanguard Art. Papers will explore subjects including religion, gender, and cross-disciplinary art practices, which are central to the intersection of American mainstream art with the work of an eclectic range of self-taught artists. Speakers include Julie Ault, Gregg Bordowitz, Rita Gonzalez, Jessica Horton, Katherine Jentleson, Marci Kwon, Angela Miller, Anne Monahan, Michael Moon, Bibiana Obler, Leslie Umberger, Anne M. Wagner, Tobias Wofford, and Elaine Y. Yau.
