Aurier, Albert

French, 1865 - 1892

Biography

Son of a notary in Chateaureau, France, Aurier moved to Paris to study law. Instead he became an art critic who helped establish the Mercure de France. Aurier died of typhus in 1982. Some of his own art collection was inherited by his sister, Susanne Williame-Aurier and her son, Jacques Williame.
