Truax, Abram A.

Biography

Abraham [or Abram] Truax was the son of Andries and Susanna de Graaf (his second wife) Truax. He married Maria [1787-1821], daughter of John Swart, and with her had four children--Eleanor, Anna Maria, Catharine, and Andrew. The latter inherited a portrait of his great-aunt, Susanna Truax (Andries' sister; painting now in the NGA), and later willed it to his great-niece, Mary Truax Gilmour Landon.
