Biography

Thomas Foulke was the great-grandson of Joseph Foulke, a minister, teacher, and editor of the Quaker Friends Almanac. Thomas inherited a painting (now in the NGA) by Quaker artist Edward Hicks, which was presented by Hicks to Thomas' great-grandfather in 1834.
