Remarks

This photograph and Key Set numbers 1140 and 1141 were probably made during the same summer that Stieglitz photographed Frances O’Brien (Key Set numbers 1142, 1143, and 1144). Although Stieglitz variously inscribed these prints 1925 and 1926, his correspondence indicates that Eva Herrmann and Frances O’Brien visited Lake George in August 1926 (Stieglitz to Elizabeth Davidson, 7 August 1926, YCAL).
