Biography

Nothing is known of this medalist except that he signed a medal of Pietro Pomponazzi (George Francis Hill, A Corpus of the Italian Medals of the Renaissance before Cellini, London, 1930: no. 250). Hill attributed to him, on the grounds of style, four other medals: those of Francesco Bonatti, Girolamo Andreasi, Giovanni Gonzaga, and Battista Spagnoli. The whole group is mostly dated to c. 1510 and was probably produced in Manuta.

[This is the artist's biography published in the NGA systematic catalogue of Renaissance medals.]
