Overview: More than 35 Italian paintings, sculptures, models, and pieces of furniture, from the time of Petrarch or closely related to his interests, were assembled from the Gallery's collection. This small, brief exhibition was presented in connection with the World Petrarch Congress, held at the Folger Shakespeare Library to commemorate the 600th anniversary of the death of Francesco Petrarca (1304-1374).
